Local Music DOWNLOAD MP3
(dedicated to Rochester, its bands and the people who support them

It’s a little after 10pm on a frozen Thursday night, I walk into the Bug Jar and order up an ice cold Sprite. I sit down at the bar and right behind the wall, my cousin’s in a Red Wings Jersey singing Annie Lennox songs.  We’ll move the clock ahead to a summer Friday night, at Milestones I wait in line to go see Gregory Paul inside. I waited once before outside the Penny Arcade, to see the metal band Within before “Tribute to Judas Priest”. In the House of Guitars I can’t find a cassette the guy from Chesterfield Kings can tell that I’m upset, he gets on the loud speaker and announces to the scene, “Can anybody find this kid a local band called, FM Green?” He saw them once at RED he said they’re really cool, and if we help our local bands then one day they can go on tour!

We like local music, local music’s good. We like local music its from our neighborhoods. We like local music, local music’s good. We like local music it from our neighborhood.

And down on Water Street we have a music place for local bands to share the stage with local bands from other states. So bands from your backyard are really just the same, there’s punk rock kings right here at home they’re called Deltaforce 23. “Cause everyone is local and every band is from somewhere just consider Pearl Jam a local band from that one place up there. Community’s important in world that’s getting small so get together everybody see some shows and have a ball!

We like local music, local music’s good. We like local music its from our neighborhoods. We like local music, local music’s good. We like local music it from our neighborhood.
